Human Body Connection

Exhibit [Return to listing page]
Green Wing, Level 2

What is inside your body? What would it be like to live in a family of cotton-top tamarin monkeys? Do your genes affect the foods you like to eat? Explore the answers to these and many other questions in the Human Body Connection. Investigate human anatomy and physiology, the variations that exist within human populations, and the evolution of living things over time through self-directed discovery and many hands-on experiences.

While visiting the Human Body Connection, think about how humans are related to other living things by observing tamarins, newly hatched chicks, and many other model organisms that live here. Ask a volunteer for a piece of PTC paper to discover something about your own genes. How do we learn about the world around us, and how does this information affect our behaviors?

In this fun and engaging Investigation Zone, you can ride a bike with a skeleton, touch a real sheep heart and lungs, and take a picture of your ear.

The Human Body Connection is staffed most days, 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Volunteers provide live activities, answer questions, and make discovery more exciting and interactive for Museum visitors of all ages.
