Could purple tomatoes be on your dinner plate one day? In this videocast, hear how researchers at the John Innes Centre in England have genetically engineered a tomato plant to produce purple-colored fruit. The tomatoes have high levels of anthocyanins, which are naturally occurring pigments that give many fruits and vegetables their purple, red, and blue coloring.
